“Each Little Bird” was the first book that ever made my daughter cry. I walked into her room and she was laying on the bed boo-hooing. I knew she had hit a turning point in her reading life. So pleasing to me.

I love Deborah Wiles but haven’t read Each Little Bird That Sings. I love the artwork on the cover, seems the same as Aurora County All-Stars and Ruby Lavender. Love it.
I’ve heard great things about Leepike Ridge, curious to hear what you think!

I haven’t read Just a Second – need to fix that. And YAY for Leepike Ridge!

Love … pretty much anything Steve Jenkins does.
I need to read Leepike Ridge. Loved the 100 Cupboards series (listened to the audiobooks).
More happy #bookaday summer reading!

Between you & Katherine, my list grows longer for my search for good books for younger readers. I’ll be working with teachers of younger students next year & need to learn more about that reading group as far as favorite books, etc. (I can always borrow from the class libraries too!) thanks Colby.

My fourth graders loved, loved, loved JUST A MINUTE (and anything else by Steve Jenkins, actually) ! I showed this one to them, thinking that I would share a few pages and then let them take it over. They made me read every single word on every single page!

Leepike Ridge and Each Little Bird…two additions to my list. Amos Fortune is a wonderful book – it’s a favorite historical fiction book club selection in my classroom.

Oh! The cover for for Every Little Bird That Sings reminds me so much of the Marty McGuire books, but I get the feeling the take is very different. I’ll definitely look out for it as I haven’t read anything by Deborah Wiles yet. Thank you for the recommendation!
