Two books by Kate Messner: Sugar and Ice and Capture the Flag. Enjoying both.

You have two of my favorites here – The Giver and Walk Two Moons. Lowry just published the sequal to Giver – even more powerful, in some ways. My sixth graders re-read The Giver every year – they discover so much more this time around. But, that is the beauty of the re-reading experience, isn’t it?

Just had a middle school book discussion on The Giver. SUCH a powerful story. It amazes me how much Lowry is able to say in so few words.

The Giver is one of my all-time favorites. In fact, I’ll be discussing it with my PD workshop participants tomorrow.

I agree with Mindi, The Giver is one of my all-time favorite books!
I have fond memories of reading Walk Two Moons while taking a family road-trip :)

As others have said, The Giver is one of my all time favorites. I love doing it as a read-aloud with my fifth graders. Also, Walk Two Moons is (maybe) my favorite Sharon Creech novel. Great choices!!
