  1. I had to smile when I saw Many Moons because I was reading Press Here with my littlest guy this weekend and he kept calling the yellow dot a moon. Are there any French words in Anatole? I like the blue on the cover. Caddie Woodlawn actually looks like it might not be a bad one!

  2. Will be so interested in hearing how you like Caddie. It seems like she’s a favorite with a whole bunch of people, but I wasn’t a fan when I read it a few years ago. The sensibilities and attitudes were just so dated. I couldn’t get passed that to enjoy the story. I MUST read the Joey Pigza book! Have loved the other Gantos books I’ve read but haven’t managed to get around to Joey.

  3. I love all the attention you are getting for the Newbery classics. I know they aren’t all your favorites, but I hope you can find some forgotten gems out there for this generation of children’s book readers! Caddie’s cover looks so appealing to me. I think it reminds me of Little House on the Prairie?

  4. I read Caddie Woodlawn years, and years, and years ago, but it’s stuck with me. Also, a huge fan of the Joey Pigza books. Realistic, but told in a way that keeps Joey from being too tragic of a character. Good reads.
