I love these posts! I read MOSSY by Jan Brett last week and paired it with Steve Jenkins BEETLES Jan has a beetle border in her fabulous Turtle story and the Beetle Book is a good way to compare fiction and non fiction (and to also discuss how Jan did the research for her art) Have a great week. We’re making a little bit of progress with the Newbery Challenge as Iphigene has just shared a review of The Cat who went to Heaven – seems like a good companion book for the one you have up here. 🙂
Bear Has a Story to Tell sounds really nice – and might be good as well for our books about books and the river of words theme. Will look for that one in our libraries.

Thanks for sharing The Cloak Society–I’m looking for an adventure/fantasy book to share with my daughter’s 4th/5th grade class. Do you know when it’s to be published?

I’m all for a parody of Picture Day and I’m guessing that Bear is an excellent book given the author and illustrator.
