I spent yesterday building bookshelves with my father-in-law and my wife’s uncle. When I accepted a new position, in the elementary I attended as a child, I realized that I didn’t really have any bookshelves. Thankfully, I have family members that would do anything to help me out.

Yesterday’s bookshelf building party helped remind me that educating a child takes a team, and the more people in your corner that you have, the more successful you will be.

I feel blessed to have so many people in my corner.

On Saturday, during my Newbery Challenge video, I’ll share how the bookshelves look in my classroom.

  1. Oh, Colby, I love this 🙂 It’s wonderful to have supportive family, especially carpenters! lol LOTS of shelves for LOTS of books, I’d say! Enjoy! Are you going to paint them wonderful colors or leave them natural?
